Jose & I are high school sweethearts who got married in 2005. We had our first son in November 2008 and have enjoyed every moment since. Little did we know we had fertility issues. Guess what?! We just welcomed our 2nd miracle, Misael!
I snissed! For those of you who don't know....it means I sneezed and peed (pissed) my pants at the same time....hence...snissed! I thought it was going to eventually happen since I have been having bad allergies all week and today it did. I was mortified for like 5 seconds then I just laughed. Guess this is something else to look forward to.
This weekend we have done so much! My house doesnt look so messy anymore. We organized the closets and still have some stuff to put away. We also took out the Halloween/Thanksgiving decorations and I just finished putting those up a couple of hours ago. Jose finally finished putting up the crib and we got the mattress. I put the bedding on just to look at it! It is so exciting! Little by little we are getting things done!
This week I have another diabetes appointment and an OB appointment with another sonogram. We are supposed to discuss the birth and when we will be inducing.
Well, I guess this is all for now. Here are some pics of our bedding on the crib!!
I have found the best invention! It is the Secret Fit Belly jeans from Motherhood Maternity! I bought a pair about a month ago just to have when it got cooler. Let me tell you....those things are the most comfortable pair of pants I have ever worn! I might just wear them even when I am not pregnant. I mean you dont have to worry about buttoning your pants and they feel good. They are GREAT!! Even Jose liked the way they fit and said he wanted a pair!!
Well, this week we went to parenting class. It was so much fun! Jose was a little apprehensive about going. His reasoning was that he had a "RINGER" so there was no reason for him to go. I had to explain to him that just because I am well experienced in baby care from work he is not! We had lots of fun at the class and were able to tour the unit where I will be delivering. I really liked the unit. Jose learned a lot of vital information and I was quite proud of him for actually participating and paying attention. He was the only Daddy to get all of the questions right and fast too! Jose got to learn how to swaddle a baby and change a diaper. It was so cute. He didnt even know what the front of the diaper was. He was an amazing labor support person and gave me a hand massage during the class. It was heavenly!
As for Baby Ismael....I am growing quickly. He moves around so much and my belly moves all over the place. When I get up I have lots of pressure "down there" and some uncomfortableness! It is also so hard to sleep comfortably. I wake up EVERY time I change positions because it takes some maneuvering to get in just the right position. I go back to the doctor in a little under 2 weeks and I have yet another sonogram!
We (Jose and I) put the invitations together this week so we will be getting those out in the next few days. Jose was so very helpful with this. I truly am lucky to have such a wonderful husband. This next week we plan on putting the finishing touches on the crib, buying a crib mattress, and continue organizing the house. We truly have so much to do and such little time!! I only have a little under 9 weeks left!!
This is all for now folks....you come back now....'ya hear?!!
Right now I am jamming to Michael Buble and I can't help but share my favorite lyrics:
And in this crazy life, and through these crazy times
It's you, it's you, You make me sing.
You're every line, you're every word, you're everything.
Whatever comes our way, ah we'll see it through,
And you know that's what our love can do.
This song reminds me of two things. One, even though my life is crazy at times (somewhat difficult pregnancy with subchorionic hemorrhage, my heart problems, Baby's heart problems, gestational diabetes, school, work, and life in general) I can't help but be grateful for what I have been given and for what I am experiencing and about to experience. Jose and Baby Ismael are my everything. They make me want to sing and dance and strive to be a better person. Two, whatever comes our way, Jose and I will see it through b/c that is exactly what our love can do. I have been fortunate to meet the man of my dreams at an early age and together we have been through many trials and tribulations. Together we can achieve anything. He is my rock, my lover, and my best friend.
Okay...enough of the sap....we went to the doctor this Thursday and we had yet another sonogram! The baby is growing well. He is 2lbs 11 oz. The doctor also said that she could not see the VSDs. Now she also said that just because she cant see them doesn't mean that they are not there, but they either could have closed up or are so small that she cannot see them. Now she is no pediatric cardiologist so we still have to wait until after birth to really see what Baby's Ismael's heart is like. But hopefully they are closed!
I also asked my doctor about the birth because when I first met her she mentioned that she would be interested in doing a controlled birth for me. This is still the case. She said I will be induced at 39 weeks (if I make it that far). That means Baby Ismael will be here before Thanksgiving! That also means we have 10 weeks left! SCARRYY!! We are going to talk more about it at my appointment in three weeks. At that time I will have more blood work done and will start my every two week appointments! At times I am realizing that this journey is almost over and I have to admit it scares the hell out of me!
As for me I am getting used to the whole gestational diabetes diet and sticking myself. I am getting to the point to where sometimes I dont even feel the needle stick. I also am chosing more sensible snacks and eating more meat. There are days, Thursday in particular, where my sugar is all over the place. I feel so bad when I check it after I eat and it is high. It seems like Thursday it was like that after breakfast and lunch. I was really going to cry if it was high at dinner, but luckily it wasnt. I see the dietician on Tuesday morning so we will see what she says.
I am getting very uncomfortable. It is hard to sit like a normal person. All I want to do is recline because it is easier to breathe. This is especially difficult at meal times. I often either lean back to eat and get my food all over me or I put my plate half on the table and half on my belly. Either way about 25% gets on me. I am also having trouble sleeping comfortably. It is so hard changing positions and getting comfortable again, plus I have to have a pillow under my belly now b/c if not it feels like my belly is just hanging there!
On the happy side I can feel Baby Ismael moving so much. He is an active little man! It is so amazing to feel him move around. I can feel him at times near my groin and up by my ribs and I think...man he is so big. I also see my belly move now from the outside. That is the coolest thing!
Well, I think this is all for now. I need to get back to my paper writing.
Well....I am officially 28 weeks! Time is starting to fly by! I have noticed I am very uncomfortable this week. Sometimes it is hard to sit down b/c I feel the baby's head or arms in my ribs or it is hard to breathe. The other day as I was walking into work I could feel the baby so low and he was kicking as I was walking. I was sure I was going to pee in my pants at any second! It is so weird to see my stomach bulging out more!
I went to my diabetes education on Thursday and it wasnt that bad. I do not like sticking myself 4 times a day, but I am dealing with it. The diet thing isnt so bad either. Today we went out to eat and I had a hamburger, french fries, and sweet tea. My sugar was just on target! I am also able to eat cold cereal....which I was bummed about not being able to eat. I just have to eat Special K and add some splenda if I want it sweet.
In other news....Jose painted Ipolito's room. It looks so good! He is so sore though and can barely walk! He also surprised me and had the crib mostly put together when I came home from school today! He is such a sweetie!
This is all for this week! I will post pics of Baby Ismael's room later!
