We have a date!

This week has been fun, yucky, and scary! I will warn you now, this will be a long post.

We went to the OB/GYN on Thursday and we set a date to be induced. I will be induced on November 20! We go in the night of November 19 and I will receive Cervadil to ripen the cervix. The next morning I will be started on pitocin. If for some reason this does nothing (i.e. no baby comes out) and Ipolito and I are doing well, we will be sent home for a few days to brew. She says this doesnt happen very often. I sure hope not. Dr. Lo also told me she wasn't worried that I have not gained weight for the last eight weeks. I just looked at her and was like huh?! I hadn't even thought about the fact that I had not been gaining weight. She said she wasnt worried because little Ismael is growing and that is all that matters. In all for this pregnancy I have gained 17 pounds. I actually have not gained any weight since I was diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes. I imagine this is because I am following the diet pretty well. Plus following diagnosis I lost 4 lbs.

I went to the nurse educator on Monday for my gestational diabetes. She did not seem as concerned with my numbers as the dietitian, but she did ask me how would I feel about taking insulin. I was quite for about 5 seconds and said well I dont like it, but I also dont like sticking myself either. I will do anything for the baby though. I go see her again on Tuesday morning. I more than likely will be taking insulin. She mentioned that as you get further along in the pregnancy the body's ability to produce insulin gets more difficult. I am sad to say that I have noticed that in the past week. I can eat meals that totally fit in my diet and bam....my numbers are 130-150.

Friday night Jose and I went to eat at Boston's Pizza. It was delicious! I unfortunately spent the night in the bathroom so so sick. I did not feel bad I just had to go to the bathroom every hour. About 0230 I started having contractions, some pretty bad ones too. They would go away after about 30-40 minutes, but would come back each time I changed position. Around 0530 they were so bad and were 5-6 minutes apart for 40 minutes. I was crying, mainly because I was scared and I had started feeling nauseous. I remember thinking I dont know if I can do this and that it was too early to have a baby. I laid around until my haircut appointment, felt well enough to go, and had my makeup done (for free). All the while, I was feeling horrible. I started feeling so bad towards the end. I was supposed to go buy something for my work baby shower to wear, but I made it halfway to the store and I had to turn around. Can you believe that?!! Me...feeling so bad I turned down shopping! I ended up wearing the dress I wore to my 10 year high school reunion. I came home slept for a couple of hours and was okay. I still had some cramping but felt otherwise fine.

My mom cooked enchiladas for my birthday and we also had hot dogs and hamburgers for Baby Jessy's birthday (a day after mine). I had so much fun seeing my little nephews and great nephew. I also enjoyed spending time with my brother, sisters, and parents. We always have so much fun! My nephew Marcus got me some flowers and a card that had flowers on it too! He even wrote his name in the inside and my name on the outside of the card. He told me the night before that he was going to buy me a toy... a ballerina toy. Then I told him he should have Grandma take him to Target to get my gift. He promptly told me, "How about Walmart?" I was like okay. Kids...they are so cute!

Sunday, my birthday, I went to a baby shower hosted by some people from work. It was so pretty and fun! I got lots of cute things! I also received some beautiful handmade blankets, bibs, and a sign with a cute saying on it. I am very thankful for everything I received. I loved all of the clothes too! I am excited!

On another note, I am getting a little overwhelmed because I need to get Ipolito's room organized, clothes and blankets washed, the house organized, and deep cleaned. This week coming up is another big week. I have a paper due on Friday, I am getting a massage, I have a diabetes and cardiologist appointment on Tuesday morning, my best buddy Patty is coming in from North Carolina on Thursday for the baby shower this weekend with my family and friends, I have a dentist appointment on Friday, meet the pediatrician that day too, and get my house professionally cleaned! Whew....I am overwhelmed thinking about all there is to do!

Well, this is all for now. On a funny note last week after I wrote my entry I went to the bathroom after we put away laundry. I saw a bug screamed loud and ran out of the toilet room. I told Jose to kill the bug. Afterwards he sat on the bed and let out this big sigh....I looked at him and said what?! He said with a relieved look, "When you screamed I thought your mucus plug came out!" I looked at him laughed and said, "Someone paid attention in class!" I then reassured him that no, it did not come out!

Have a great week! I am 34 weeks, 5 days.
