Our 1st Antibiotic!

Well we are officially on our first antibiotic. Yesterday when I came home from work I fed Ipolito and notified that his right index finger was red and swollen. I touched it and it was not warm or pussy feeling nor did he appear to be in any pain. I asked Jose when that happened and he had no idea. It wasn't like that the night before. I was thinking maybe he was just sucking on it too much (it is his favorite hand). Later as the day progressed there was a white spot right in the center of it and I started thinking it was an ingrown nail. When I touched it now he would get made and cry. I made an appointment for today and the doctor said it looked like an infection of some kind. He could have had a little cut on his finger and by putting it in his mouth made it worse. Or he could have gotten something from his sitter's house. Who knows? She put him on an antibiotic and we have to soak his hand twice a day for 15 minutes each time. Plus we have to wrap the finger and keep him from putting it in his mouth. Easier said than done!!! How do you keep a teething 4.5 month old from putting his hands in his mouth?! I am also to watch to make sure it gets better b/c if not we might have to drain it or test it for MRSA.

So we are soaking him in the water 2x a day (baths...b/c it is the easiest at this age) and trying anything and EVERYTHING to keep his hands out of his mouth. I am wrapping his finger in gauze, putting a sock over the hand, and a mitten over that. He gets so mad but then gets over it and just puts all that in his mouth!! It is a no win situation. If anyone has ideas please let me know!!

Well that's all. I will put some pics of his hand and his cute outfit from this weekend!

Messy Boy!

Here are some pics of Ipo eating. As you can see he would rather eat his hands! If I could somehow tie those hands down he would eat so much better!!

Guess what?!

Ipolito slept through the night for the first time last night!! He went to sleep about 1015 and woke up at 800! I woke up about 530 wondering about him, but thought he would definitely wake up soon (20-30 minutes). I woke up at 630 scared and went to check on him, even though I could see he was fine and had moved around in the bed since the last time I looked at the monitor. I then fell back asleep and awoken by the sound of the alarm going on off when Jose came home at 740. I ate some breakfast and talked to Jose until the little boy woke up at 800!!

Ipo also has been eating us out of house & home. He is eating about 6 oz with each feed and has seriously depleted the breast milk stores (I have always had supply issues). We will now be giving him formula and breast milk. He is also eating rice cereal because of the sudden increase in his appetite. He is of course very messy, but still cute!! He has gotten so much better at it during the last 3 days.

Last night we had a guest spend the night...cousin Marcus! He loved watching Marcus, but was scared by how loud he can be. Every time Marcus would yell loudly he would pout then cry. All in all it was a good night!!

Until later....

More pics...

Apparently there's a limit to the pics you can add at a time...I will now add some more.

4 months!

Wow...it has been a long time since I have blogged! Time has flown by and Ipolito has gotten so big! I truly love being a Mommy. There was a time I really thought I wouldn't be able to do this, but support from my loved ones and my faith in the Lord showed me anything is possible.

Mr. Ipolito went to the doctor yesterday and he weighed in at 14 lbs, 5.4 oz and is 25.19 inches long! He is in the 65th percentile for weight and 95 for height. He is a tall, skinny boy!!

Everyday is amazing. He rolls over now, is getting teeth, loves his hands and feet, "talks" all of the time, slobbers buckets, smiles, and laughs. When he sees us he gets really happy and it just makes us even happier.

To me and my mother Ipolito looks like Jose and has his personality. He is patient, kind, sweet, calm, and just overall good. BUT once he gets mad he has my temper! He can go from sweet to mad in 0.0 seconds. It is so hard to calm him down once he gets mad too.

Ipolito loves to watch Sesame Street videos. He especially loves Elmo and the Cookie Monster. He gets so happy when we put them on. He jumps all around and yells. It is so funny. I find myself often times not singing the most popular song, but a Cookie Monster song. It is funny because 4 months ago I would never imagine I would be doing this.

Well I will post some pics of Ipolito. I will also try to post his 3 month pictures we had done at JCP. Hopefully I can be a better blogger in the future.

I am a bad blogger!

Well, time sure does fly when you are having fun! Ipolito is 2 months now. Nine weeks to be exact! He is absolutely amazing. He is cooing, smiling, kicking, and eating better too! He is going through a phase where he will only sleep in my arms. The only way we can get him not to sleep in my arms is to 1)put him on his tummy (which he recently started liking) or 2)I leave him with someone else (like my Mom or Jose). I have spent numerous nights in the last three weeks sitting and sleeping in the rocker. I have joked with Jose that I am going to get a bed sore on my but!

Life is getting better. I have to admit that I was doubtful it would ever improve there for awhile. Ipolito is pretty much awake during the day with a couple naps and sleeps during the night waking up anywhere from every 3 hours to ever 5 hours! He is so happy in the morning!

My little turkey weighs 11 lbs 12.62 oz and is 23.6 inches long! He has come a long way from his 6 lbs 14 oz at birth! His checks are big, his hair is light brown/dark brown, his eyelashes are so LONG, he has dimples, and he has no butt!

I started school again today and I have to admit I am scared I will not be able to handle it! There is so much information and it seems like I hardly have time to breathe at times. I will give it my best though! I have added some of pics of my little lovely boy!
