Well, now I am off to clinical. I will try to finish updating soon!!
Jose & I are high school sweethearts who got married in 2005. We had our first son in November 2008 and have enjoyed every moment since. Little did we know we had fertility issues. Guess what?! We just welcomed our 2nd miracle, Misael!

1 year old!
Well, my baby turned 1 year old on November 16, 2009! I am amazed, sad, happy, proud, and hopeful! We made it! I am the mother of a 1 year old!!! AHHHH!!!! Can you believe it?!
We celebrated his birthday on Saturday with a birthday party. He had so much fun! All of our family and some friends came. Ipolito got lots of great toys & clothes, had some personalized treats to give people, had a great cake, and let everyone hold him. He DID NOT like the cake. He didn't want any of it or any of it on his hands. As soon as it got on him he cried. As we sang Happy Birthday to him he just looked with his big eyes at everyone....I don't think he quite knew what to make of the situation. As everyone sang I almost lost it....I had tears in my eyes and was praying that I wouldn't crack.
I have been doing a lot of reflecting over the past year....we have come so far. I remember after Ipolito was born having lots of feelings of apprehension about being a Mother. I didn't think I was doing a good job because I didn't produce a lot of milk...then I was just sad and scared all of the time. After talking things over with my wonderful hubby and family life got better. They all helped me realize I was a great mother and was doing a good job. Everyone was so supportive. I cannot thank Jose enough...without him, being a parent would not have been possible. I still remember the first time I looked at Ipolito. I didn't know it was possible to love someone so much......I didn't know how hard it would be to be a parent. I didn't know how much I would enjoy this....I didn't know how easy it would be to love him the way I do.
Ipolito has grown so much this past year. He is a little person now. Here are some of the things he likes and does at 1 year!!!
*Still wakes up during the night for a feeding or a cuddling
*Just started drinking out of a sippy cup....he prefers his with a straw

My tall turkey
Ipolito has been growing again!! He has now outgrown his 6-9 month clothing. He only outgrows clothing by being too tall NOT by being chunky. He is currently wearing 12 month and 18 month clothing. He wears 12 month pants mainly because they fit his waist and are just right in the length (barely). He wears 18 month outfits because the length are perfect for him. They do not look like he has on capris.
In other news in the past two weeks he has really started using his signs although he started off doing them one handed. He is now progressing to using both hands. He also will tell us no and shake his head when he is done eating. Then he does his all done in sign. Ipo repeats everything we say to him like he is practicing his words. He says DaDa, hey, no, Mama, regularly. He is also starting to walk more.
We went to the State Fair this past week. He loved it!! It was a bit chilly but not bad. He loved the animals! He wanted to touch them but we wouldn't let him. He got to take a pic with Scooby Doo and absolutely loved it. He was screeching when he saw him. PoPo also loved the car show!!
I will update more later. Ipolito turns 11 months this Friday!!! AHHHHHH

You make me smile!!!
This song by Uncle Kracker says just how I feel about Ipolito!! I mean how could you not love this beautiful child............
You're better then the best
I'm lucky just to linger in your light
Cooler then the flip side of my pillow, that's right
Completely unaware
Nothing can compare to where you send me,
Lets me know that it's ok, yeah it's ok
And the moments where my good times start to fade
You make me smile like the sun
Fall out of bed, sing like a bird
Dizzy in my head, spin like a record
Crazy on a Sunday night
You make me dance like a fool
Forget how to breathe
Shine like gold, buzz like a bee
Just the thought of you can drive me wild
Ohh, you make me smile
Even when you're gone
Somehow you come along
Just like a flower poking through a sidewalk crack and just like that
You steal away the rain and just like that
Don't know how I lived without you
Cuz everytime that I get around you
I see the best of me inside your eyes
You make me smile
You make me dance like a fool
Forget how to breathe
Shine like gold, buzz like a bee
Just the thought of you can drive me wild

Wow....it has been awhile....
I have not updated this thing in so long......I have just been busy with life. I am going to school, working, and being a Mommy. None of this is easy but I have to admit I do love it.
Ipolito has gotten so big. Each day is an adventure. He has been crawling like a madman since about 5 months and the day before he turned 10 months he TOOK HIS FIRST STEPS!! He is still a bit wobbly but he thinks he can take off running.....he hasn't realized that slow and steady wins the race. He makes so many faces these days too. He gives us smiles all of the time and has a very expressive face. He even gives us dirty looks. I showed him this!! Well, it all started when I was teaching him what "NO" meant...he thought I was funny so I started making a mean face when I said "NO" and low and behold...when you tell him no he gives you that look. He even gives the look when he doesn't like something you say or do. It is so cute.
Ipolito is quite the eater these days. He love his 3rd stage food from Earth's Best. We try to feed him only organic food, but we are not super picky about it. He loves his Gerber puffs, his Gerber cheetos, and beans! He would eat only beans if we let him....a true sign he is a Flores man! Ipolito loves to be with us at the table when we are eating. He wants to eat too!
Ipolito sleeps from 9pm until 6 or 7 am. I get up with him during the nights on the nights I am here and Jose wakes up with him in the morning while I get a couple of hours of sleep.
Ipolito is learning sign language these days and understands what more/mas, all done/termino, Mama, Daddy/Papi, lechita/milk, eat, come is. It is sure hard teaching him three languages.
My Polito still has no nickname....I try Ipo, Poli, Polito, Lito, PoPo....so I guess nothing has really stuck. He responds to all the names.
Ipolito has these amazingly LONG eyelashes. They are so long that every time we go somewhere we hear people say, "Oh my goodness did you see that little boy's eyelashes?!" or "Wow....look at his eyelashes!!"
Some things about Ipolito:
* he weighs 20.5 lbs, 30 inches long
* wear size 3-4 diapers
* wears size 5.5-6 shoes (toddler shoes)
* he sleeps 9-10 hrs a night (9pm-6-7am)
* will try to go to sleep around 7pm

* toots all of the time
* loves to eat beans!
* loves his living room/house full of toys
* loves to dance/sing

* loves bath time...he gets so excited when he hears the water running..he even tries to climb in the tub.
* loves to take pictures
* it is getting hard to take the monthly pictures because he would rather eat the sign.
* his hair is finally growing....he is getting a haircut in a few weeks!
I guess this is all for now!
