Winter Wonderland...or ICELAND!

Since our wonderful Houston weekend we have been getting back into the grind of school and work. This week we have had an awful ICE/Snow storm. I work Monday/Tuesdays and all day Monday I was super worried about what we would do with Ipolito because on those two days I work his Tio/Tia pick him up and take care of him until I get off of work. Well, we finally decided I would just take him to their house that way him and Mateo (his cousin) would be in the same place. It turns out the ICE storm was in full force when I woke up and school was cancelled so I just took him to his Tia's house and off to work I went. It took me 25 minutes to drive 2.5 miles to their house. Then another hour to get to work. I was so scared and my windshield wipers were not working very well against the heavy ice that was falling, but by the Grace of God I made it.  Coming home was another story. It was awful, but luckily I got behind a sand truck and drove very slowly home, praying the entire time. Luckily Jose didn't have to go into work and already had Ipolito. By the time I made it home I had to park in the street on pure ice. We have since stayed in every day since. Jose had to go into work last night and this morning when he came home he said driving in this weather was the most awful thing he has ever done in his life! He couldn't see the lanes or  where he was going. It took him two hours to get home, but again, by the Grace of God he made it. He did have to go in this afternoon and we will just have to pray he makes it home safe and sound.
Eating dinner with Papi while Mama is working
 It is yummy!
I have graduated from wearing a bib - actually he will not wear one!

As for Ipolito, he was so excited to go outside and as soon as Papi woke up he asked to go out. We all got ready and bundled up. Well, we were outside for approximately for 3 minutes and Ipolito didn't want anything to go with the snow or being outside, so we came back inside. It took us longer to get ready than we were outside!
 Not so sure about this...
 Uh...can someone pick me up?!
 Papi & Ipo
Neither one was very happy by this point!

He has been keeping himself and us entertained the past few days. Yesterday, he was singing, "Baby, Baby, Baby, Ooooo" by Justin Beiber. It was so cute! Today he woke up from his nap & we were watching the end of Fresh Beat Band....well it came to the part where they beat box & Ipolito busts it out...I just sat there shocked while my two-year old beat boxed & sang!! Then he said, "Come on Mama...sing!!" Oh this kid....had me laughing so hard! He has also been dancing around and literally eating out of house and home. We are out of all of his favorites: fresh fruit, goldfish, yogurt, yogurt smoothies, orange juice, and apple juice. Luckily we have a huge box of "dinosaurs" aka fruit snacks. Ipolito hasn't been feeling well the last two days because he hasn't eaten that much and has been a bit cranky. I hope he doesn't get Jose's cold.  His cousins are sick too, so hopefully he doesn't get anything. I need to go to the store badly, but am not about to go out in that weather until it is above freezing (hopefully tomorrow). I have been quite inventive in the activities we do. We have had dinner in the living room, watched TV, colored with his "yellows" (I think that means colors -crayons), and watched lots of Mickey Mouse.

 Yummy!

Showing his legs...he insisted on pulling his pants up and not wearing socks despite the cold wood floors.
Napping - see his socks around him?! He doesn't like to sleep with socks on either!

I had so much planned for this week like a physical, a dentist appointment, a massage, school work, and work outs. I also had wanted to drive around downtown Ft. Worth to look at all of the Super Bowl stuff. Hopefully we can get out tomorrow afternoon to shop for groceries and go out to eat. I guess it depends on how the roads are. Well, I have been sitting here for about 45 minutes...I better go check on my little monkey (really I have gotten up numerous times).
