Wow....it has been awhile....

I have not updated this thing in so long......I have just been busy with life. I am going to school, working, and being a Mommy. None of this is easy but I have to admit I do love it.

Ipolito has gotten so big. Each day is an adventure. He has been crawling like a madman since about 5 months and the day before he turned 10 months he TOOK HIS FIRST STEPS!! He is still a bit wobbly but he thinks he can take off running.....he hasn't realized that slow and steady wins the race. He makes so many faces these days too. He gives us smiles all of the time and has a very expressive face. He even gives us dirty looks. I showed him this!! Well, it all started when I was teaching him what "NO" meant...he thought I was funny so I started making a mean face when I said "NO" and low and behold...when you tell him no he gives you that look. He even gives the look when he doesn't like something you say or do. It is so cute.

Ipolito is quite the eater these days. He love his 3rd stage food from Earth's Best. We try to feed him only organic food, but we are not super picky about it. He loves his Gerber puffs, his Gerber cheetos, and beans! He would eat only beans if we let him....a true sign he is a Flores man! Ipolito loves to be with us at the table when we are eating. He wants to eat too!

Ipolito sleeps from 9pm until 6 or 7 am. I get up with him during the nights on the nights I am here and Jose wakes up with him in the morning while I get a couple of hours of sleep.

Ipolito is learning sign language these days and understands what more/mas, all done/termino, Mama, Daddy/Papi, lechita/milk, eat, come is. It is sure hard teaching him three languages.

My Polito still has no nickname....I try Ipo, Poli, Polito, Lito, PoPo....so I guess nothing has really stuck. He responds to all the names.

Ipolito has these amazingly LONG eyelashes. They are so long that every time we go somewhere we hear people say, "Oh my goodness did you see that little boy's eyelashes?!" or "Wow....look at his eyelashes!!"

Some things about Ipolito:
* he weighs 20.5 lbs, 30 inches long
* wear size 3-4 diapers

* he sleeps 9-10 hrs a night (9pm-6-7am)

* toots all of the time
* loves to eat beans!
* loves his living room/house full of toys
* loves to dance/sing
* loves to watch Mommy sing/dance

* loves bath time...he gets so excited when he hears the water running..he even tries to climb in the tub.
* loves to take pictures

I guess this is all for now!

Our 1st trip to the ER!!

Well....we offically had our 1st trip to the ER! On Thursday, May 21 I went shopping and to run some errands. I was at Jared's and I got a text message from Jose that asked me where I was. I told him I was at Jared's and he told me to come home. I was like why?! He said just do it! I immediately left the store and raced home. All the way I kept calling Jose and he wouldn't answer! I was beside myself with worry. There were all kinds of unpleasant thoughts going through my head....I was thinking the baby is hurt, Jose is hurt, my parents had an accident, one of them had a heart attack, someone died, etc. I finally got home and I heard Ipolito crying. I immediately found them in the living room and he was just in his diaper. I asked Jose what happened and he told me Ipolito fell off of the kitchen counter from his Bumbo seat. I was shocked! He turned away for a second and he next thing he heard was a splat and the baby scream! I took Ipo from Jose and started looking him over. He didn't appear to be hurt just scared and probably sore. He started wimpering and calming down some then would start crying all over. It was like he was telling me the story. We called the pediatrician and she told us to go ahead and take him to the ER to get checked out so we started the trek to Children's.

The whole way to the hospital Ipo slept. I kept thinking someone is going to report us to CPS! Jose was thinking the same thing. We were in and out in pretty much 2 hours. They did a CT scan and verified there were no fractures. My poor baby was so good in the CT scanner. He looked so helpless. I wanted to cry. He ended up having a bruise on this left cheek and eye. You can't really even see it now.

Everyone at the hospital told us this probably wasn't the last time we would come in! Ughhhh....if this is what I am in for...we better buy stock in Xanex!

I guess Ipolito proved he can't fly!

Happy 6 months & 4 year Anniversary!!

Ipolito is now 6 months old! Man...where has the time gone?! It seems like just yesterday I was having him and having a hard time making the world go 'round. I remember when he was so little, sweet, & cuddly! Now....he is tall, skinny, & on the move!! He only wants to cuddle when he is sleepy or not feeling good. BUT he will only cuddle with me...not Daddy. He is so funny....he is good, sweet, and calm with me, but as soon as Daddy gets him he is a DIFFERENT child! He gets all rambunctious and loud!

Here are some of his faves:

Favorite music: Anything Elmo or Mexican
Favorite toy: the exersaucer
Favorite food: peas (chicharroos)
Favorite formula: Similac
Favorite activity: taking a bath & splashing everywhere or standing and jumping on Mommy & Daddy
Favorite diaper: Pampers Swaddlers 2-3
Favorite bottle: Avent
Favorite place to go: Anywhere!!
Favorite thing to do: Smile and laugh!

Ipolito is an all around good baby. He is so happy most of the time. As soon as you walk into a room his face lights up and he gets the biggest smile! I cannot imagine my life without him!

His 6 month stats: 16lbs 15.6 oz (basically 17 lbs) 26.74 inches

Yesterday was also mine and Jose's 4 wedding anniversary. We have legally been married for 4 years. Man...where has the time gone. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful husband. He is truly amazing, wonderful, perfect, loving, honest, caring, and just perfect!! I am truly blessed.

Here are some pictures for you to enjoy. In the one Ipolito is standing on the couch.

Ipolito's Baptism

Ipolito was baptized on Saturday, May 9, 2009 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. The day went by fast and somewhat smooth. My little boy was the best behaved child there!! He didn't even cry when the water was poured on his head! He of course was gorgeous! The only thing that went kind of bad was when I went to Tom Thumb to pick up his cake it looked NOTHING like what I wanted! I was so disappointed! I almost started crying! BUT I did get the cake for half off. I guess that was the LEAST they could do.

Jose's sister and her husband were Ipolito's Godparents. We had lots of family over to our house afterwards for a lunch of fried chicken, corn, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls, potato salad, & cake! I had lots of fun seeing everyone and just being with family!

I have attached pictures of Ipolito's Baptism. He also has TWO bottom teeth! I have tried and tried to get pictures of those but have not been successful!

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day!!

I am so blessed to be the mother to the most wonderful little boy in the world. He makes me so happy! Every time I look at him I just smile and get so happy. I have to admit, motherhood was not the easiest for me at the beginning, but it was worth it. I wouldn't change a thing!

My son, Ipolito and wonderful hubby went to JARED'S!! (Like the commercial). I got a beautiful white gold Pandora bracelet with Ipolit (yes it is missing the O) spelled out and a charm with his birthstone on it! It is so beautiful! I was so happy. Jose sure does know how to pick great gifts!!

Well, this is all for now. I have to get back to studying. I will post more about this weekend later.

Ipolito is 5 months, 3 weeks, 3 days old!
