My mother and I went to see the OB/GYN today for a two week check up and sonogram. I also had the diabetes test. We did the sonogram first and they tell you to drink a liter of water 45 minutes before. Well, I drank about 800 cc and was finished. I know my body and let me tell you... I know it takes very little for me to have to pee. So we went into the room and the sono tech did her thing...only little Ipolito Ismael did not want to cooperate. He wouldn't turn over for her. She kept pushing and banging on my stomach. I was like what is this woman doing?! I mean...hello...pregnant lady has to pee!! FINALLY he turned a little bit and that was all we needed. The doctor came in and took a look herself. She showed me the VSDs and said he is growing right on target. He is currently 1 lb 11 oz and is the size of a subway footlong! Can you believe I have something the size of a sandwich in my stomach?! I then had to wait for my actual doctor appointment....the nurse gave me the glucola and I guzzled that thing down. She was like thirsty? I said no sleepy. My mom and I went into the waiting room and both fell asleep reading. I looked over at her at one point and her head was down asleep. I bet we looked funny, mother and daughter both asleep! Now I just wait and see about the results of the diabetes test. I signed consent for delivery today and I go back in 4 weeks for another sonogram and appointment.
As for how I am feeling....I am still exhausted and my hips still hurt. The doctor said that is because I just carry my weight all in the hips. I also noticed my right ankle has the huge bruise that goes up my leg about 6 inches. Well....that is no bruise. It is spider veins. The doctor said that is fine and normal and they will probably go away after delivery. It looks like i banged my ankle pretty hard. I also have a strawberry birthmark there and that is no longer strawberry more like blueberry.
We are trying to figure out if there is a nickname we can call Baby Ismael. Here are a few we came up with: Ipi, Ifi (his initials), Smiley, or just Smel (like his Daddy). ??????
Jose and I have a plan to go looking at bedding this Friday or Saturday! Well this is all for now. I think I need a nap.....I'll get Jose to scan the baby's pics from today later.
I am 24 weeks 6 days (by my calculations) and 25 weeks 3 days (by sonogram)
