Well....about midnight I got an email telling me my glucose results. I saw the first two (the fasting and the 1 hour test) results were good. I was like yes....then...I opened the 2nd hour and then the 3rd. It appears my glucose level got really high. In fact the third hour's value was off the charts quite a bit. So....I got the gestational diabetes! This sucks...but what am I going to do about it?!
I have to go to diabetes education to learn about dieting, testing my own blood sugar, and to get my monitor. I know doing all this is only to benefit myself as well as my son. Generally as soon as the baby is born the diabetes goes away like magic! I guess I need to eat some taco bell before then!
As far as side effects go...the baby can be larger than normal (a fat baby). Well, this is all for now. I will update more later after I go see the education people.
I am 26 weeks, 5 days!
